About the Club
The San Joaquin Yacht Club is an informal place for members and guest to get together for fun and social events both on and off the water. Our clubhouse is located on the historic Riverboat the “Sutter” docked at our facility on the south side of Bethel Island on the California Delta. Our members are mostly power boat owners but we welcome sailors with equal gusto.
Our many events feature cruise-outs to various locations on the Delta and the SF Bay. We also host many cruise- in’s from other clubs through the region and are a member of the PICYA offering full reciprocal privileges to the club and our guest docks.
The San Joaquin Yacht Club is often described and the friendliest Yacht Club around. Friday through Sunday evenings, guests and members can drop by for one of our scrumptious dinners prepared by guest chefs, and sample one of the special libation recipes from the Ship’s Bar. All this in the historic and maritime setting of our riverboat on the water.
The San Joaquin Yacht club supports important organizations on Bethel Island including Meals on Wheels with fund raising activities including Opening Day Parade on the Island.
Chartered in 1948, the club presently serves a community of over 270 members who enjoy boating in the Bethel Island area. There are still a few memberships available. Perspective members must be recommended by at least two present members. Please contact membership chair JJ McCorkle* at (925) 684-2410 for more information.
