From the Helm

Hello, yacht club members,

Rain, Rain, Rain, you know what they say-----watch what you wish for as you might get it and get it and get it. The club is faring well during the recent weather; only a few leaks---- the windows still need to be addressed and we have a broken window due to the juke box rolling across the club on an unusually high tide. The pot holes are getting to be bone jarring and need to be filled, will talk with the levy police and see if anything can be done.

The trash can caper continues, the original can was too small and was always overflowing on big events, Rick Bower talked to disposal service and was told a 3 yard in lew of two yard was only 8 dollars more a month great deal, lock it up and lots of trash room. This was not to be... the service bills for an additional 87 dollars? What the hay O that program ended in whatever and we miss quoted? Standard so now we go back to two yard can/ to be continued.

The Champagne Cruise for Meals on Wheels is to be chaired by Dennis Pippin / Rich Marshall/ Geri Marshall so it looks like they have the expertise needed to put on this excellent event. Please support this cause in any way   possible. This is a great cause and I’ve seen the difference a meal makes to a shut-in, of all the charities I think this is the one that makes the most difference and it is out there every day contacting the elderly, checking on them, caring for them.

Opening Day is fast approaching and the club would like to see every boat out

there this year. The attendance has been off as of late and its time to put on a show and have a lot of fun at the same time. The Board would like to entertain the idea of having a band attend the festivities and have a trial run pig roast at the same time, just like being on the board, doing a pig is a learning experience and like a pig you can get burned being on the Board, so my hat is off to all who have served on the board or is serving on the board. Keep the boat afloat.~
